Loïc Dewaele is a director and sound engineer driven by a passion for storytelling through both image and sound.
What began as shooting small sketches in the garden with a GoPro has evolved into writing and directing award-winning short films, earning prizes for Best Action Film, Best Action/Thriller, and Best Foreign Short Film. Alongside directing, he has worked as a sound engineer on numerous productions and Belgian TV shows such as De Ideale Wereld, De Spor, Masters of Madness, Belgium’s Next Top Model, and Alone. These experiences have shaped a strong understanding of how sound and visuals work together to elevate a story.
Loïc is currently developing his first feature film, Traces Of Yesterday’s Dust, while experimenting how he can elevate visuals with sound on a new short film, Graffi-C. He knows stories don’t come alive on their own — they spark to life on set, fueled by the chaos, creativity, and brilliant contributions of every person in the room. That shared, electric, collaborative, process is one of his favourite parts of making films. Whether you’re looking for a director, editor, or on-set sound engineer, you’ve found the right person.
